I finally got around to adding a few more older journal entries, by using Archive.org's Wayback Machine - but there was a spanner thrown in the works when I found out that it doesn't appear to have a complete archive of Hungry Hacker, even for URLs it claims to have archives of! Oh well, I have some old DB backups I'll be able to go through with about 10 minutes worth of Python, if I ever get off my arse and do it.
Judging by the quality of entries I did manage to import, I'm probably not missing much... but I was just thinking it'd be cool to have everything I ever wrote in one spot, and Google's not-insignificant server cloud seems to be the place to keep it for the time being.
I think I'm just jealous of the fact Grog's got his whole diary going back since time immemorial (or most of it rather) in one place, but back even 10 years ago I never thought to keep this shit. I know there's hundreds of entries on fwaggle.net that are now inaccessible because the current squatter has a very impermissive robots.txt on it. Again though, judging by the quality of shit I wrote back then, it may be for the best.
