Backing up your Minecraft Data

I wrote this guide for my son, Duncan. So here’s how to back up your worlds on Minecraft: Java Edition.

  1. Find a place to save the files - in this case we’ll use the NAS… So press Start and type Z:/Duncan/.
  2. Create a new directory, with today’s date, and open it.
  3. Press Start, and type %appdata.
  4. Open the .minecraft directory.
  5. Copy the Saves directory over to the backup location.
  6. That’s it!
