Graduate!

A rather exciting email from RMIT today - they’ve reviewed everything, and accepted my application to graduate in absentia. I had to confirm my mailing address and my testamur would be mailed out in a few weeks.

I didn’t think there would be much issue with this, as I covered all the courses laid out in my study plan, absolutely crushed the final two, and despite floundering a bit with the non-IT classes I finished up with a cumulative GPA of somewhere around 3.8 which is a pretty fair effort considering I worked full time for most of it.

Update: After some stuffing around, my paper testamur finally showed up. The runaround seems like it was worth it though - they revoked my prior digital testamur, and re-created it, giving me the distinction that I thought I’d missed out on. I wasn’t sure if I still qualified, as there was one set of rules when I registered for my degree, but I re-registered as a “Commonwealth Supported Student” (not entirely sure what that gained me, but that’s neither here nor there) after the rules had changed. I thought that the original rules would still apply to me, but I was a little disappointed when my degree showed up sans distinction, so it was a pleasant surprise to see!
