Quassel full time

I switched everything over to Quassel full time, after shuffling around all my IRC stuff. I’ve put off doing anything about it for so long, but I was running all my IRC stuff on the same netblock as I had a few (not many anymore, thankfully) paying customers… something which I consider monumentally idiotic, but couldn’t be bothered doing anything about it. It’s been over 10 years since I’d been smurfed last anyway.

A while back I signed up for a student pack at Github, and it came with a DigitalOcean voucher that I hadn’t done anything with, so I used that. It turns out they support FreeBSD, which is good because in moving to a cloud environment we’re all but abandoning FreeBSD. This means I get to keep a build environment to test things on FreeBSD out!

On a side note, while shuffling things around Amazon’s Route 53 proved to be rather nice. I’m not sure whether it’s worth the ~$0.90 a month for the privilege but it wasn’t an unpleasant experience.
