Thunderstorms, Diff oil, and Guitar Hero

I got all the brakes and everything done on the Suburban, but I have one more thing I want to take care of… the oil in the differential. I had big plans to do it yesterday, so I went and grabbed the oil and the gasket from our auto parts place. As I was standing in the dollar store waiting to pay for some coffee creamer, I overheard two old ladies gabbing about the rain we were supposed to have in an hour or so.

Rain? Shit, I haven’t mowed the lawn and it’ll be wet and overgrown by the time it dries out. I hurriedly paid for my goods and raced home. Without so much as checking the weather sites, I took one look at the dark clouds over head and I pushed that lawn mower super-quick and mowed our entire quarter acre in something stupid like 45 minutes.

Never trust old ladies’ opinions on the weather. The rain didn’t (and indeed, wasn’t supposed to) come in until 9pm, when we had some awesome thunderstorms.

So we picked up Guitar Hero III a while back on Half.com – it’s stupid cheap if all you want is the game, no controllers, we paid $10 and it’s in great shape – and it came yesterday. I was feeling a bit tired dragging the lawn mower kicking-and-screaming all over our yard in a hurry, so I thought “eh I’ll just play for a bit.

I played until bed time. :(

The diff oil still needs doing, so I’m about to go out and see if it’s dry enough outside to do it. Gyah.
