My poor truck. It’s really reliable, for being almost as old as I am, but it always seems to have something go wrong when I’m mean to it or neglectful to it. After our karate promotion, I forgot to warm it up so everyone climbed in the truck. It seemed to be running somewhat smooth, so we just went, a two minute trip home and then I shut it off – well if it doesn’t warm up completely, the plugs become fouled and then it won’t fire on those cylinders the next time we start it.
This in itself isn’t a problem in the summer, because I can just let it warm up and eventually those plugs will start firing again and it’ll run smooth before I go to drive it – but in the winter starting and keeping it running during warm-up becomes quite difficult if the plugs are fouled.
So this morning I cleaned the plugs off by hand, but now the battery’s dead from the cold, so it’s on charge right now.
