So the original author of WP-Flickr-Manager hasn’t had time to update the plugin to work with 2.8, so some enterprising young soul decided to fix it. Hooray!
I tried doing it myself, but I lacked the time to really pour over why it didn’t work – I’m absolutely terrible at jQuery and my Javascript knowledge is limited to the DHTML stuff of about a decade ago.
What’s the problem? The problem is the updated version inserts unsolicited links under your images for SEO purposes. To fix this, open up js/media-panel.php and navigate to about line #152, you’re looking for a line something along the lines of “echo “imgHTML+='<div style="\">“, comment it out by putting a pound sign in front of it and the unsolicited links won’t appear.
“SEO” Assholes.
Update: Commenting that line prevents the SEO links from showing up under your photos, however your blog will still connect out to their server to see what links they want you to “sponsor”, so I took the liberty of doing a full “diff” between their version and TGardner’s – basically the new version of jQuery just wants there to be no @s in some of the queries.

Update #2: If you re-download the zip above, the “insert photoset” feature works as well, thanks to 1ayah on the WordPress forums for pointing that out. I also tried updating the .diff so that people could patch it themselves, but for some reason the latest change won’t apply with “patch” cleanly, so you’ll have to resolve the failed hunk by yourself. 
Update #3: As Triseult at the WordPress forums pointed out, my package of the plugin also broke the javascript viewer (“lightbox”), which is now fixed in the downloadable plugin above.

Yes, I took the version by Trent, from WordPress.org’s plugin downloads, and made only the changes necessary to get it working – removed all the “adware” inserted links. Credit can’t be given to me, anyone could do it per my instructions on WordPress.org’s forums, and obviously “ogre” deserves credit for actually fixing it (I don’t understand jQuery well enough to have fixed it myself), but yes the version at that link is a “clean” version.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I use the plugin myself, as does my wife. I truly appreciate ogrethegreat’s effort in fixing it, I just didn’t want random links in my posts that I didn’t put there, even if it is only 10% of the time.

Thank you for making it available. However, wordpress-flickr-manager modified by you may have one bug. When I set the size of view to large and inserted pictures from flickr-manager, both JS viewers print “Photo is currently unavailable” with flickr logo on the viewer box. According to my investigation, wrong URL was inserted into the post. Large and small size pictures are well performed.

Thanks, I saw this happening, and was already suspicious of the plugin when I installed it. I went searching for the “fixes” that seoishard did, and while I was looking I wanted to see if anyone else noticed this happening? I’m going to try to get my page to the top of google with the link to your clean version. Otherwise a ton of people are going to get pulled into their black hole

I’m not sure if there’s still any broken functionality with it – AJAX and whatnot really isn’t my strongpoint, but I think I fixed all the complaints people had with it. It’d be nice if the original author would update it, but it really looks like he’s much too busy at the moment.
I really do think the seoishard guy didn’t really think he did anything wrong, but I’m almost certain that cloaked links like that can get you punished by Google… so since I tried to fix the plugin for myself, I figured I’d share. ;D
