Old ‘zine repository

A few months back I started collecting and hosting old versions of online magazines (aka “e-zines”) from the last 10 or 15 years and placing them on my Hungry Hacker site. Whether it’s an article I wrote, some artwork I did, or a really neat piece by a good friend, it makes me nostalgic for a time passed and friends who’ve disappeared and left something behind.

I’m not talking about crap like “wholesale insurance life insurance“, I’m talking about the intangible stuff. The late 90s were a great time for me, I had plenty of time and was always learning new things (though looking back, I’m now amazed at how little I knew back then). I had very little stress (teenagers think high school is stressful, but it really isn’t) and all I did was hack on stuff. While the stuff released in these ‘zines is by no means an archive of everything I learned back then, it’s a small glimpse into the mind of a more carefree, juvenile me – which is sometimes interesting to go back and take a look at.
