In an effort to stay away from MMORPGs, I’ve been playing quite a bit of Team Fortress 2 in my spare time. It’s a good excuse for trash-testing Mumble, getting a few people together and jumping on for a couple hours of TF2, and despite the fact we try to maintain some humility our little group is pretty good at rising to the tops of the ranks of most servers we ever go on.
So we’re thinking about starting a competitive team this summer, just for fun. We figure if we go into it just to have fun and try not to take it too seriously, it should be a hoot.
I want to play Scout, but I don’t really have the reactions for it – I’m a pretty good scout when it comes to picking on other classes, but when it’s time to go toe to toe with another scout I’m basically never any match for the enemy. So I’ll probably continue on my “health care career“, that is, playing Medic.
So far we have two soldiers and myself, and we need another 3 people or so for a good team – but we still have summer. I’ve been trying to get Strykar to play, but he lives in India and his pings are too high.
I’m looking forward to getting it going though, I think it’ll be a blast.
