We need a new TV.
To clarify, I more or less got our current TV out of the garbage about 6 years ago. A Vietnamese TV repair guy I knew threw it away because it had a busted RF-in socket and he didn’t feel like messing around fixing it. It’s a Panasonic, it’s about 32″ big and it’s worked reasonably well these past years now that I fixed where the input board connects to the mainboard.
I periodically have to tear into it because the connection between those two boards gets oxidized and it starts to mess up… flickering, screen rolling, you name it.
I’m not too worried about the whole DTV thing – we have satellite and I hardly watch TV anyway, just play video games on it. But I start to think about how nice the PS3 would look on a glorious new Plasma.
Yesterday, while looking at office chairs, I stopped to ogle the tv stands and entertainment centers as well, thinking about how long we had until the next Black Friday – but I seriously doubt we’re going to be in the position to buy something as silly as a new TV thisĀ year.
Right now I’m probably going to go play some more games on my crappy TV.
