I’ve been sick. :(

On Wednesday I came down with some bizarre 12 hour stomach bug of some kind. My wife’s stepdad had it for a while about a week ago, and it didn’t seem like it affected anyone in this house, until Tuesday night, Jeremy (the noob) wasn’t feeling to great. This may have been unrelated because all he really did was act fussy and urp up his formula and the next morning he seemed pretty good.

It affected me and Colton much worse. I woke up feeling queezy, but attributed it to not enough sleep and/or not enough caffeine, so I idioitically chugged a rather large cup of creamer-filled coffee. Sitting by the heater made me feel worse, so I went to lay in bed. I later walked up to the store because the dogs were out of food, my car’s not running and I thought maybe the fresh air would do me good. Everything was going great until I hit the warmth of the store and the feeling of queasiness returned with a vengeance.

I couldn’t sign the credit card slip fast enough, I made it out across the parking lot and found a nice large pile of plowed snow to hurl up behind. I spent the next 12 hours or so making love to a bucket and praying to the porcelain goddess before it finally subsided. I slept on and off for much of the night, a mess of aches and stomach pains. Yesterday I felt a little “off” still so I decided to skip Karate (besides I might be still carrying the bug and I wouldn’t want anyone else to get it if they’ve not already), but today I feel pretty good.

The downside is because of the cold weather and the orientation of the wind it’s been so freakin’ cold in our bathroom, so I haven’t been able to take a shower. I’ve just been bumming around in about 3 layers of clothing hoping for a warm day so I can wash what I can only describe as what feels like “the rest of the sickness” away. It’s just a psychological thing, for some reason any time I’m getting over being sick with anything, a good hot shower seems to get rid of the last of it.

It makes me wish we had a nice tankless water heater so I could just stay in there, because getting out in this cold sucks. But alas, I will probably brave the “elements” and go do it.

Wow that post turned out a little more long winded – and graphic – than I intended. Oops. :O
